Cher and Drag Race? It might soon happen, after the pop icon said she is “going to have to go” on the show “at some point”.

The pop icon sat down for an interview with Entertainment Weekly to discuss her new documentary, Cher & The Loneliest Elephant.

But the chat also strayed into the question we’ve all been dying to know: Will Cher ever appear on Drag Race?

She’s been an icon in the LGBT+ community for decades, and countless drag artists have paid homage to Cher. So of course, Cher said she’s “going to have to go on it at some point”.

Cher said she knew about fans’ “amazing” hunger for her to appear on the Drag Race, and would love to connect with her dear friend RuPaul.

She told EW that she’s known Mama Ru for “a long time”, having even appeared on The RuPaul Show back in 1997, and considers him “such a cool guy”.

Cher said of the host and his show: “I would consider it! I have watched it…. He’s smart and I love him.

“He’s the coolest guy ever. What he’s been able to do is amazing.”

Though Cher hasn’t graced the Drag Race stage yet, her son, Chaz Bono, participated in a season six interview challenge alongside Cher’s mother, Georgia Holt. The pair also joined the judging panel later in the episode.

Drag Race also paid homage to the music legend in season 10 for Cher: The Unauthorised Rusical, which saw contestants each embody a different era of the singer’s career. She even made a video appearance on the episode but didn’t set foot into the actual werk room.

Throughout the show’s 13-year history, Ru has welcomed a host of celebrity guests onto Drag Race including Adam Lambert, Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj and Lady Gaga.
