Drag Race UK’s Tayce signs to Europe’s biggest modelling agency: ‘We made it, baby!’

Drag Race UK‘s Tayce has made it big after being signed to Europe’s largest and most successful modelling agency, Models 1.

The series two finalist may not have emerged from the show victorious but she’s certainly winning off-screen after becoming the latest Drag Race girl to nab a modelling contract.

Tayce is joining the men’s board of Models 1, one of the world’s most respected agencies, where she’ll join the likes of catwalk superstars Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista and Aweng Chol.

The Welsh-born entertainer celebrated the news on social media, recalling the multiple rejections she got when she first tried to break into modelling as a teenager.

“When I was 16 I took it upon myself to come up to London and see some agencies, eight to be exact over two days,” she tweeted on Tuesday (13 April).

“Every single one of them rejected me, saying I was too young, too skinny and not ready. So this is a lil full circle moment for moi… ten years later we made it baby.”

While Drag Race was on air Tayce attracted the attention of Pat McGrath’s beauty brand, which had her recreate one of her looks for their Instagram page and dubbed her a muse.

Since then she’s gone from strength to strength as several magazines called her for editorials and covers, and in March she was unveiled as the new face of Coca-Cola.

Her top modelling contract follows news that non-binary star Bimini Bon Boulash has signed a major deal with the women’s board of Next Models.

Bimini wrote in an Instagram post: “Never in my wildest dreams would I have ever thought this possible. This opportunity is a huge, crazy, mind-blowing moment for my gender-non comforting ass and to top it all off they have signed me to the management’s main booking list rather than special bookings… which makes me gag!

“This is huge for non-binary representation in fashion and I’m so thankful that Next want to take this chance with me!!”

Other Drag Race names that have signed to agencies include Aquaria, Gigi Goode, Pearl, Milk, and Naomi Smalls.
