Queer Eye fashion guru Tan France has shared the happy news that he and his husband Rob are about to become parents.

The stylist, 37, announced on Tuesday (13 April) that he is expecting his first child, a baby boy, via surrogate this summer.

He broke the news on Instagram with a topless selfie of himself cradling an ultrasound picture of his future son over his belly.

“So happy to finally share that WE’RE HAVING A BABY!!” he wrote. “No, I’m not pregnant, despite this VERY realistic pic.

“With the greatest gift/help of the most wonderful surrogate, Rob and I are lucky enough to be on our way to being parents, this summer.”

The couple have been happily married since 2007, and the dream of expanding their family is “something we’ve wanted for soooo many years,” he said.

“Our hearts are so full right now. I cannot wait to hold this baby, and to show him so much love.”

Explaining the photo, Tan added in the comments: “This pic is meant to just be a bit of fun. Playing in to the usual pregnancy announcements, because I so wish I could carry my baby.”

Rob France, a freelance illustrator, celebrated the impending birth with a touching illustration of their baby under a bright yellow sun.

“We have a beautiful little angel on the way and I didn’t think it was humanly possible to feel like this,” he wrote.

The Queer Eye gang were quick to share their congratulations. “Happy for you!!!” gushed Jonathan Van Ness. “I’m so proud of you and Rob, you are two of the sweetest most genuine people in the world & this is the most exciting news ever.”

Karamo Brown warned France that “Uncle Momo is going to spoil this baby!!!!” while Bobby Berk was mostly fixated on Tan France’s pregnancy announcement photo.

“Hahahaha. The joy of this post outshines the creepiness of this pic,” the interior designer wrote.

Antoni Porowski, the show’s culinary guru, also chimed in: “Now I know what it’s like to cry tears of joy and be turned on simultaneously. Thank you and congrats boys!!!!”
In a 2019 interview with NPR, Tan France said he always wanted to be a father and has long had his heart set on a big family.

“I’ve wanted children since I was 19, 20. If I’d had a stable relationship at that time, I would have desperately tried to have children,” he explained, adding that “surrogacy for gay men costs a heck of a lot.”

“I was going to be a stay-at-home dad, which is something I’ve wanted for many, many, many years. And so that was the plan,” he continued.

“And I actually – crazily, I still want six. I don’t know if that’s going to happen, but yeah, I still want six children.”

We’ve no doubt the whole brood will be impeccably styled the moment they’re born.
