An amazing and unique tea towel that celebrates British drag has been created to raise money for an AIDS memorial.

The unusual design, which sees popular drag artists from across the country reimagined with ‘potato heads’, is being sold on Etsy by an independent artist.

The quirky tea towel features several Drag Race UK stars including Bimini Bon Boulash, Tayce, Asttina Mandella, Joe Black, Ginny Lemon and Tia Kofi.

It also celebrates drag kings with Chiyo, Prinx Silver, Mark Anthony, Richard Energy and Adam All included alongside icons like Juno Birch, Cheddar Gorgeous, Yshee Black, Donna Trump and Freida Slaves.

The tea towel and accompanying colourful print costs £14, with all profits going towards the Birmingham HIV & AIDS Memorial in Birmingham City Centre.

It’s been designed by Jodi Ann Bickley who has an independent store on Etsy that features similar items including prints of Birmingham-born icons with ‘potato heads’ and quotes.

She originally posted her designs of different British drag artists in four separate Instagram posts to “bring some joy” to people’s timeline, also joking: “My only problem with the tiny potato heads is they look very odd with cheekbones and some of the cheekbones on our drag monarchy are otherworldly.”

But when she suggested making a tea towel and print featuring the designs it was met with a hugely positive response from her followers.

One said: “Oh my goodness! I will be immediately buying this! ❤️,” while another added, “this is sooo gorge. can’t wait for mine to come ?.”

While Amy Zing, who features on the print commented: “Also bought 2 ?? gaggged to be on a tea towel xxx.”

To buy the tea towel and print and raise money for the HIV & AIDs memorial head to Jodi’s Etsy store here.
