New trailer shows brutal medieval warfare game Chivalry 2 in all its bloody glory ahead of release date

Chivalry 2

Brutal medieval battle game Chivalry 2 has a new trailer ahead of its launch in two months time.

Releasing for PC, PlayStation 5 (PS5) and Xbox Series S/X, the game is a multiplayer online battle game with up to 64 players stabbing, swiping and firing at each other in bloody first person combat.

The new trailer shows off all the squelching and slicing you could want to see, with the full game launching on 8 June.

Players will have access to a variety of classes: four base classes expanding to twelve subclasses, from the melee/ranged hybrid Skirmisher to the fighting Poleman. Blades, bows, poleaxes and more are available.

Across expansive battlefields and intense sieges, players can use the environment to help them by utilising siege weapons like ballista, catapults, trebuchets and more to cause mass destruction. Traps can be used to defend, from spikes to bear traps and more.

You can even find weapons on the battlefield to grab and improvise with. Maybe that’s a chalice of mead you swig down and throw, or maybe it’s a flaming chicken (no, really).

The main mode of Chivalry 2 is team objective, working with others to storm the battlefield in your favour. But there’s also team deathmatch and free-for-all to mix it up.

The game’s closed beta runs from 23 April until 26 April.

You’ll play on the Siege of Rudhelm map, completing team objectives on either the attacking or defending side.

To access the beta, pre-order the game now. The beta is available with cross-platform play, as will the main game, so you can play with others across any platform.

A teaser trailer for the beta was released last month which shows even more gameplay. For all its po-faced realism, there’s a healthy dose of comedy here too.

That means intense combat as you fight for glory, but it also means catapulting yourself over the battlefield. You can see for yourself in the trailer below.

Chivalry 2 will be released by Torn Banner Studios on 8 June for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC (via the Epic store), as well as PS4 and Xbox One and you can pre-order it from Amazon here.
