Heathers the Musical: tickets, UK tour dates and more as the show returns to the West End for 2021
Heathers the Musical is returning to the West End and theatres across the UK and we’re “so very” excited.
The musical is returning to the West End for a 12 week run at Theatre Royal Haymarket between 21 June and 13 September.
Heathers the Musical will also head across the UK for a national tour from 28 July, visiting cities including Leeds, Edinburgh, Bristol, Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham, with tickets now available here.
The twisted tale of teen drama, friendship and deadly obsession takes theatre audiences to Westerberg High, where popularity is a matter of life and death, and Veronica is just another of the nobodies dreaming of a better day.
Despite the musical’s black comedy elements, it also explores important issues that are still very relevant today, including bullying, teen suicide, sexuality, bulimia, sexual assault and school violence.
This is all against the backdrop of high-energy, rock-influenced songs including “Candy Store”, “Seventeen” and “Dead Girl Walking” that feature on the soundtrack.
It’s based on the 80s cult classic of the same name which stars Winona Ryder, Christian Slater and Shannen Doherty, with an impressive supporting cast of huge shoulder pads and croquet sets.
When the film was first released in 1989 it was considered a box office bomb, but since then it’s found a huge following and become one of the most influential teen films of all time.
It’s even had an impact on the Oxford English Dictionary because of the slang featured in the script, including words and phrases like “hang”, “righteous” and “I’m sorry what?”.
Heathers the Musical has previously starred West End favourite Carrie Hope Fletcher, performing sold-out runs at Theatre Royal Haymarket as well as on Broadway.
