Xbox Game Pass April 2021 games: Grand Theft Auto V and MLB The Show 21 lead the fray this month

Xbox Game Pass

A bunch of new games are heading to Xbox Game Pass this month, available as part of the subscription service.

With top billing is Grand Theft Auto V, if you somehow don’t already own it, that is – after all, the game has now sold 140 million units since its release in 2013 and is available across three console generations, including Xbox Series X/S

Still, whether you want to steal cars and beat up thugs for the very first time, or just want a triumphant return to the fictional Los Santos, you can do so via the cloud or Xbox consoles from 8 April (sorry PC players).

Also coming to Xbox Game Pass on 8 April is Zombie Army 4: Dead War across cloud, consoles and PC. From the developer of Sniper Elite 4, it’s a co-op shooter set in 1940s Europe where Hitler’s hordes are all zombies.

The game has also just been released on PlayStation for PS Plus members. On PS5 there’s a free update that adds faster frame rates, reduced loading times and higher resolution graphics. Xbox X/S players will get this same version.

On 15 April, Game Pass users will have access to Rain on Your Parade on cloud (no pun intended), console and PC. The hilarious new game sees you playing as a naughty little rain cloud, able to help or hinder the characters they meet with a squirt of rain. Fans of Untitled Goose Game will appreciate this one.

PC players will have access to Pathway from 15 April, a cartoon strategy game set in the 1930s great wilderness where you’ll raid ancient tombs and defeat squads of enemies in turn-based battles.

Sports fans will have access to brand new baseball game MLB The Show 21 on cloud on console from 20 April. The series is developed internally by PlayStation Studios, but thanks to the game’s license holder you can now cross-play with buddies on other consoles. A little earlier on 12 April there’s also NHL 21 on console for ice hockey fans.

Lastly, a couple of Disney titles round out the new games from 8 April: Disneyland Adventures and Rush: A Disney/Pixar Adventure, both via the cloud.
