NikkieTutorials describes being attacked, assaulted and told she’s ‘better off dead’ than being trans

Trailblazing YouTuber and influencer NikkieTutorials has opened up about being “attacked” and “assaulted” just for being openly trans.
Nikkie de Jager, who is better known by her YouTube name NikkieTutorials, opened up about the horrific treatment she has endured as a trans woman while doing the popular “put a finger down” trend on TikTok.
In the video, an emotional NikkieTutorials says: “Put a finger down if people have ever told you that it’s just a phase,” as she puts a finger down.
“Put a finger down if parts of your family have rejected you. Put a finger down if people have told you you’re better off dead.
If you’re trans and watching this, I love you. I am so incredibly proud of you and you are doing the right thing.
Put a finger down if you’ve been attacked, bullied or assaulted just because of who you are, and put a finger down if you feel like you’re fighting this battle by yourself,” she says. By the end of the clip, Nikkie has put down all of her fingers.

“This is something that trans people have to deal with on a daily basis and I’m here to let you know that you are not fighting this battle by yourself,” she continued.
“We are here – trans visibility is here. If you’re trans and watching this, I love you. I am so incredibly proud of you and you are doing the right thing. We are here and we’re not going anywhere.”
NikkieTutorials came out as trans in January 2020
NikkieTutorials is hugely popular on YouTube, where she has almost 14 million subscribers. The beauty influencer also has a large following on TikTok.
She came out as trans in January 2020, revealing in a powerful YouTube video that she had transitioned as a teenager.
She eventually decided to share her story publicly after she was blackmailed by somebody who knew she was trans.
“We don’t need labels. But if we are going to put a label on it, yes, I am transgender,” NikkieTutorials said in the video.
The icon later opened up about being diagnosed with PTSD as a result of the horrific blackmail attempt.
