Pose star Dominique Jackson has blown fans away with a sensational catwalk appearance for fashion brand Mugler.

The fashion house released a video of a virtual runway event on Wednesday (31 March) to launch its spring/summer 21 collection, featuring stars including Hunter Schafer, Omahyra Mota, Bella Hadid and Irina Shayk.

But Dominique Jackson, who plays Elektra Abundance in the trailblazing FX series, stole the show. Modelling a slinky black bodystocking, Jackson strutted along the virtual runway – and didn’t even blink as she raised an arm to summon a blazer from the ether.

In a second runway look, Jackson modelled white cut-out dress with a sheer skirt. The actress and model shared the clip on Twitter thanking Mugler, and fans were left gasping.

Dominique Jackson was always going to steal the show on the runway given her extensive experience in the ballroom scene.

In an interview with Time Out in 2018, the Pose star recalled getting involved in the scene back in 1993.

She was living in Baltimore and was part of a group of “gay-identified people” when she first encountered the local ballroom community.

“I was walking down the street one night, and I was dating this guy, and he was just going to take advantage of me anyway, and these group of kids just walk up two me, and one of them is Shatira Revlon,” Jackson explained.

“She’s like: ‘You’re going to be my child,’ and the other one says: ‘You’re my sister and you’re not dating him!’ I’m like: ‘I’m not a girl!’ but inside, I was like: ‘Someone thinks I’m a girl!’ And from then we just built this bond.”

Jackson later became part of the house of Sinclair in New York and became embedded within LGBT+ and ballroom culture, where she learned how to serve iconic looks.

Pose is set to return for its third and final season in May after production was halted for months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The series quickly won the hearts of LGBT+ viewers when it debuted in 2018. Pose broke records for the huge number of trans and non-binary actors it counted among its cast, heralding in a new era of LGBT+ diversity on television.
