Bimini, Baga and Lawrence Chaney to headline Glitterbomb In The Park dragfest: how to get tickets

Glitterbomb In The Park

Bimini Bon Boulash, Lawrence Chaney and Baga Chipz are headlining a huge festival of drag this summer, called Glitterbomb In The Park.

It will take place on 25 June and tickets, which are available here, are selling fast. Described as an LGBT+ extravaganza, the all-day event will take over Mote Park in Maidstone, Kent with tribute artists, drag performers, DJs and more.

It will see Drag Race UK winner Lawrence Chaney top the bill alongside fellow finalist Bimini Bon Boulash who recently announced their  book deal and their signing to a major modelling agency.

Also featuring on the lineup are Drag Race UK season one contestants Baga Chipz and Sum Ting Wong alongside Danny Beard, Amrick Channa, Delilah Tickles, Felix Le Freak and Kylie On Show, with more to be revealed.

The festival organisers recently responded to some criticism around the lack of diversity on the lineup, namely a lack of drag kings and Black performers.

They posted on social media: “We are grateful to those who have pointed out the line-up announced so far isn’t as diverse as they’d have hoped and we understand why this has been said.

“We agree and apologise that we haven’t platformed as diverse a line-up at this stage. The artists announced are ‘stage one’ of a much larger line-up still to be revealed and we will be taking on this feedback and will be learning from this moment.

“We understand Glitterbomb is a large platform and we have a responsibility to share our platform with a large range of talent. We will be working hard to do this now and in the future.”

It’s expected to take place just days after the final date of the roadmap out of lockdown on 21 June, which will see all restrictions lifted including the reopening of nightclubs.

The festival has also assured attendees that it will follow any Covid-19 guidelines saying: “We expect the event to run as a normal festival as per the government roadmap to recovery, however we are committed to following all current government advice on festivals and live events to ensure everyone is kept safe.

“We will send an email closer to the time to all ticket holders advising them of any extra precautions they may need to take if circumstances change.”
