Lil Nas X releases controversial ‘Satan Nikes’ filled with real human blood

Lil Nas X's blood-filled 'Satan shoes' face product recall amid Nike lawsuit

Lil Nas X has riled up conservatives by releasing limited-edition “Satan shoes”, with each pair including a drop of real human blood.

The rapper and singer released the customised Nike shoes in conjunction with New York art collective MSCHF shortly after he gave Satan a lapdance in the music video for “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)”.

Shortly after dropping the video, Lil Nas X announced that he would be releasing 666 pairs of Nike Air Max 97s, customised with human blood and hellish themes.

Nike was quick to distance itself from the shoes, telling CNN that it had not been involved in creating the shoes and that it has no relationship with either the rapper or MSCHF.

“Nike did not design or release these shoes and we do not endorse them,” Nike said.

Lil Nas X Satan shoes come with a pentagram and an inverted cross tag

Each shoe contains 60 cubic centimetres of red ink, plus one single drop of human blood donated by members of the art collective.

A pair of the shoes comes with a hefty price tag of $1,018, referencing Luke 10:18, which reads: “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.”

The shoes come with a pentagram and a tag of an inverted cross, just in case they weren’t Satanic enough for your liking already.

Lil Nas X has faced an endless stream of bile from conservatives on social media since unveiling the Satan-themed shoes.

Commentator Candace Owens hit out at Lil Nas X for “promoting Satan shoes to wear on our feet”, adding: “But we’re convinced it’s white supremacy that’s keeping Black America behind. How stupid can we be?”

Lil Nas X shared her tweet, writing: “You know you did something right when she talks about it.”

The “Old Town Road” singer also clashed with South Dakota governor Kristi Noem on Twitter. Noem shared images of the Satan shoes, writing: “Our kids are being told that this kind of product is, not only OK, it’s ‘exclusive’. But do you know what’s more exclusive? Their God-given eternal soul.”

She added: “We are in a fight for the soul of the nation. We need to fight hard. And we need to fight smart. We have to win.”

Lil Nas X responded: “Ur a whole governor and u on here tweeting about some damn shoes. Do ur job!”

The “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” singer hit back at his critics in a truly iconic video posted to YouTube titled “Lil Nas X Apologises for Satan Shoe”.

“OK guys I see everybody’s been talking about this shoe and I just want to come forward and say–” Lil Nas X says in the video, which then cuts to himself grinding on Satan in his glorious music video.
