Drag Race UK’s Bimini Bon Boulash ‘feels sorry’ for thugs who painted over their trans rights mural
The artwork, which was painted in the Pottergate pass in Norwich, was created by local artist Knapple and trans activist Sharpay Salazar. The mural featured Bimini in their iconic Norwich City Football Club ensemble alongside an inspirational message supporting trans rights.

However, the mural was up for only a couple of days before it was covered up by graffiti. The BBC reported on Sunday (28 March) that the mural was painted over in an apparent act of vandalism.
In a post on Twitter, Bimini Bon Boulash hit back at the vandals, vowing they will “never stop being myself”. They continued: “I’ll never shy away from living an authentically queer experience even if there are people that disagree with our existence.
“Trans rights are human rights, and I will push that message until the end.”
Bimini added that they “don’t feel anger” over the vandalism. Instead, they said they “have sympathy”. “I feel sorry for the people who felt threatened or intimidated by a message portraying love, positivity and kindness,” Bimini explained.
I don't feel anger, I have sympathy. I feel sorry for the people who felt threatened or intimidated by a message portraying love, positivity and kindness.

Salazar also expressed her disappointment about the vandalism in a series of tweets. She wrote: “To say I’m upset is an understatement. Like to see so many trans lives in Norwich to be positively affected by something I did makes me so happy.
“We deserve to be publicly seen, validated and celebrated. This silencing of my voice isn’t going to stop me, 2021 here I come.”
Since appearing on the show, they’ve wasted no time in creating their drag empire and even announced plans for their upcoming book on Instagram. Bimini Bon Boulash will also be adding ‘model’ to their list of roles after it was revealed on Monday (29 March) that they had been signed on to global modelling agency Next Models.
