PS5: Amazon, Smyths and more rumoured to be restocking PlayStation 5 console this week

PS5 stock UK

A number of big UK retailers including Amazon and Smyths are expected to stock the PlayStation 5 (PS5) this week.

The PS5 has ended up out of stock in minutes every time it’s been (briefly) available in the UK since its official release in November last year.

But now UK PS5 gamers may have a chance to get their hands on the latest PlayStation console tomorrow (18 March) according to rumours from YouTubers and Twitter users.

Some of the UK’s biggest retailers are rumoured to be dropping more PS5 stock at the following times:

If you’re after a PS5 console then it’s probably best to bookmark each of those websites and set an alarm to remind yourself to check them at the expected stock drop times.

Meanwhile customers can sign up for a PS5 priority pass at currys.co.uk. You’ll then be entered into a draw that will be selected at random by the retailer.

Those who are selected will be given a priority pass, complete with a PS5 buying code, however they’ll only be available to use in-store to combat the impact of bots purchasing the console online, one of the issues that are leading to it being out of stock.

So if you’re lucky enough to be selected, you’ll have to wait until Currys PC World reopens its stores across the UK, which could happen on 12 April as part of the government’s roadmap out of lockdown.

These latest stock rumours have come from popular YouTuber Jake Randall who revealed on his channel the exact date that Amazon will release more than 40,000 consoles, with that being 18 March.

Other gaming insiders that have been releasing UK PS5 tips on social media include PS5StockAlertUK on Twitter. They’ve used the platform to provide gamers with constant updates on PS5 stock since its official launch last November.

Their latest update (17 March) reveals that UK gamers can expect Very and Game to release consoles next week in the UK, so keep an eye out on those websites from Monday, 22 March.

These latest stock rumours come after Sony boss Jim Ryan said that PS5 stock will increase month-on-month throughout the year.

The president and CEO told GQ: “I know there were people who wanted a PS5 and couldn’t find one. We’re very sorry about that and obviously grateful that demand has been as strong as it is.”
