Cardi B and Candace Owens threaten to sue each other after claim pundit’s husband cheated with her brother

Cardi B and political commentator Candace Owens have gone head-to-head on Twitter over the rapper’s Grammy performance, resulting in both threatening to sue the other when the online conversation turned to the topic of Ms Owens’ husband.

On a segment on Monday (15 March), Fox News’ Tucker Carlson and Owens slammed Cardi B’s Grammys performance of “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion. Owens said the not-safe-for-work performance was heralding the “destruction of American values and American principles”.

“Parents should be terrified that this is the direction that our society is heading towards,” Owens said. “Again, we are weakening America… We are setting the stage, and it feels like we are looking at corrosion like we are about to see the end of an empire.”

But Cardi B jokingly applauded her appearance on the news broadcast, tweeting: “Yaaaayyyyyy WE MAKE FOX NEWS GUYS !!! Wap wap wap.”

Cardi B later tweeted to “thank Candy” because Fox News highlighting her Grammys performance “boosted the views on YouTube and is counting towards my streams and sales”.

However, the Blackout author was not flattered by the remark and addressed the rapper by her legal name in a follow-up statement on Twitter. Owens wrote: “I don’t work for Fox News, Belcalis, nor do I take issue with you having success.

“I take issue with you being used to encourage young women to strip themselves of dignity.

“Men typically treat women how they treat themselves. You know that.”

The Twitter fight, which is still seemingly ongoing, came to a head when Candace Owens threatened to sue Cardi B for posting a “photoshopped tweet” in which the commentator allegedly wrote that her husband cheated on her with her brother.

In response, Cardi B claimed the tweet wasn’t photoshopped, and Candace Owens claimed she would be “100 per cent suing” Cardi B over the “wild lies against private members of my family”.

But Cardi B doubled down and said she would be countersuing “Candy for claiming I photoshopped a tweet that dozens of articles reported about back in November 2016”. She added: “First she claim[s] me and my team photoshopped it now it was a fake tweet. Which one is it. Everyone is free to Google.”

Their beef continued with Owens sharing about how her new show, which airs on Ben Shapiro‘s The Daily Wire on Friday (19 March), is already a “#1 trending topic in the country”. She also asked fans to “send a thank you note to Cardi” for her work as her hype man.

The rapper shot back: “I’m not your hype man I’m your MOTHER. You look for me when you need help on your career not the other way around.

“YOU NEED ME I DON’T NEED YOU. Now say thank you mommy Belcalis.”

In the last of the exchanges (thus far), Owens thanked the rapper for tweeting out the promotional video for her new show. She said: “I suggested to Ben Shapiro that we rally the Daily Wire execs to give you a bonus this year for all of the hard work you’ve done for us.”
