Lady Gaga has shared a first look snap from the set of her new film, which tells the story of a murder within the Gucci family.

Gaga shared a photo of herself and Adam Driver on the set of Ridley Scott’s upcoming drama, reportedly called House of Gucci, at a snowy location in Italy.

“Signore e Signora Gucci,” the singer captioned the shot, which shows Gaga decked all in black and covered in gold jewels. The post translates as “Mr and Mrs Gucci”.

Gaga’s post was flooded with loving messages from fans. One Instagram user commented: “Nothing could prepare me for this photo.”

“Future Oscar winner!” another wrote, while one person summed up the world’s feelings by calling Gaga an “Italian queen”.

Lady Gaga will play murder plotter in House of Gucci

House of Gucci will tell the real-life murder mystery that rocked the Gucci family in the 1990s, when the fashion designer’s grandson Maurizio Gucci was killed.

Gaga will play Patrizia Reggiani, Maurizio’s ex-wife, who was convicted of plotting the murder. She later served 18 years in prison after Maurizio was shot dead on the steps of an office building in Milan in 1995.

House of Gucci will also star Al Pacino, Jared Leto, Jack Huston, Reeve Carney and Jeremy Irons, and is expected to be released later this year.

The film could mark Gaga’s next shot at an Oscar after she missed out on the Best Actress prize to Oliva Colman in 2019.

Gaga won praise from critics for her debut film role in A Star is Born, where she played a rock singer on an upward trajectory while her boyfriend, played by Bradley Cooper, is ravaged by addiction. While she lost out on Best Actress, she did win the Oscar for Best Original Song with her song “Shallow”, taken from the film’s soundtrack.

The singer released the first-look shot of the film after she reportedly flew to Italy earlier this year to start shooting the hotly-anticipated movie.

Just weeks ago, Gaga offered a $500,000 reward after two of her French bulldogs were stolen in Los Angeles, while her dog walker was left with serious injuries after he was shot in the chest by the dognappers.
