RuPaul's Drag Race COVID special season 13

UK fans of RuPaul’s Drag Race can finally watch the season 13 behind-the-scenes COVID special.

Many fans were left disappointed after the episode wasn’t made available on Netflix a day after the US, as is the case for the weekly competition episodes.

Instead it looked like it was a US only episode, but now fans in the UK can stream it through exclusively through WOW Presents Plus.

Entitled “Corona Can’t Keep A Good Queen Down”, the episode takes fans behind-the-scenes to discover how the queens, cast, crew and judges faced the challenge of creating a “normal” season of Drag Race while filming during a global pandemic. The UK version of the show aired a similar special.

It features exclusive cast interviews, never-before-seen footage and an unprecedented look at the set of a very different season of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

The trailer features a voiceover from RuPaul who says: “On set my queens were safe in their bubble and to keep it that way there were rules we all had to follow.

“So every day on the runway and all over the set, category is: precaution.”

We also hear from contestants who came to the competition in the midst of the pandemic, with Utica saying: “I’m a very affectionate person, if someone needs a little bit of uplift and I can offer that through the touch of my body, that touch can be really powerful.”

Joey Jay adds: “Utica is like a giraffe of love.

“It is a big deal, if you have not talked to the outside world and been locked up in a hotel room and haven’t talked to any friends, family and have not been touched, just to finally huge someone… it was gorgeous.”
