Nintendo are releasing another brand new edition of the popular Switch console, this time inspired by Monster Hunter Rise.

The console dock features an image of the game’s flagship monster, Magnamalo and will be released alongside the new game in the series this March.

It will mark the first Monster Hunter game to be on the Switch and the upcoming release follows up a number of other special edition Nintendo Switch consoles including Fortnite and Animal Crossing.

The most recent was the Mario edition of the console which was branded with the iconic blue and red colours. Due to huge demand it sold out during preorders and is still limited in stock at a number of big retailers.

The brand new edition of the Nintendo Switch features an image of Magnamalo, the game’s flagship monster, on the dock. There’s other Monster Hunter Rise-themed designs on the console and both Joy-Con controllers. Plus it also comes bundled with a download code for the game.

It will be released on Friday, 26 March. Gamers can preorder it now to guarantee deliver on release day and avoid any disappointment when demand will likely go up which is what happened with the recent Mario edition of the Nintendo Switch as well as the PS5 and Xbox Series S and X releases in late 2020.

Where can I preorder the console?

The console is currently available to preorder from Amazon, Nintendo UK and Very.

It’s currently not on sale at other major retailers including Currys PC World but we’ll update this if there’s any release news.

Gamers can get the standalone console, while Nintendo is offering a download code for the game alongside bonus merch items, Very is offering a bundle with a pro controller and Amazon is offering bundles which include the console with a popular Switch game.

How much is it?

The Nintendo Switch: Monster Hunter Rise edition console is priced at £339.99.

If you’re after a bundle edition then there’s a couple to choose from. Very has a bundle featuring the console alongside a Monster Hunter Rise pro controller priced at £404.98.

While Amazon is offering the console alongside a game including Mario 3D All Stars, Mario Kart 8 and Super Mario 3D World. The bundles are priced between £376-£379 on Amazon here.

The Monster Hunter Rise controller is priced at £64.99 when purchased on its own and is available from the Nintendo website.

Gamers can get Monster Hunter Rise, the newest entry in the action-RPG series and obviously be fully immersed in the experience with the matching console and controller.

It’s set in the ninja-inspired land of Kamura Village, half a century following the devastation of the last calamity, hunters must face a new and terrifying monster who has reared its head and threatens to plunge the land into chaos once again. The game invites you to explore lush ecosystems and battle fearsome monsters to become the ultimate hunter.

The game is also being released on 26 March and is available to buy separately if you’re not after the console. You can get the physical copy of it from the official Nintendo Store here.

Plus all of the games for the original Switch are compatible with this one. So that includes all of the above Mario games mentioned as well as Animal Crossing, Just Dance 2021, Pokémon and Minecraft to name a few.
