Drag Race All Stars 6 is sashaying to a new streaming service and fans are furious

Drag Race All Stars 6: Netflix confirms UK release date

RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 6 is moving from VH1 to the new Paramount Plus streaming service.

ViacomCBS, which owns VH1, confirmed the Drag Race spin-off will move to its rebranded streaming service Paramount Plus when it premieres later this year.

It follows an aborted move for All Stars 5, which was announced for the group’s cable network Showtime last year. After criticism from fans over the “greedy” move, the series moved back to VH1, officially because of COVID-19-related “scheduling adjustments”.

Drag Race apparently didn’t learn its lesson, because immediately after the announcement, fans revolted.

Currently, there’s no news on a cast or premiere date for All Stars 6, which will see returning queens compete to join Shea Coulee (season 5), Monet X Change and Trinity the Tuck (season 4), Trixie Mattel (season 3), Alaska (season 2) and Chad Michaels (season 1) in the Drag Race hall of fame.

Paramount Plus also announced a brand-new Eurovision-style drag singing contest, Queen of the Universe, from the creators of Drag Race.

The new series is billed as a global singing competition with “high heels and high octaves”.
