Fired Mandalorian star Gina Carano ‘came to an agreement’ with Pedro Pascal over opposing views

Fired The Mandalorian star Gina Carano says she came to an “agreement” with the hit show’s lead actor Pedro Pascal over their differing political beliefs.

Gina Carano, who played Cara Dune in the Disney Plus series, was fired after sharing an Instagram post seemingly comparing being a Republican to being Jewish during the Holocaust, and after being accused of “mocking trans people” by posting “beep/boop/bop” as her pronouns.

Pascal, meanwhile, was previously criticised for comparing Trump supporters to Nazis. However Carano claims the two have managed to put aside any differences, saying she “adores” Pascal despite him “doing and saying some hurtful things”.

Carano said the pair “had an agreement” after they realised “we were a little bit politically different”.

In an interview posted on conservative commentator Ben Shapiro’s YouTube channel, Gina Carano said: “We had an agreement that – first and foremost – you’re a human being, and you’re my friend first.

“We’re both passionate. We just think a little bit differently.”

Carano referenced a now-deleted tweet by Pascal in which he compared Trump supporters to Nazis. She said: “I know that we both have misstepped on our tweets.

“We’re not perfect. We’re human beings.

“But he’s not a bad human being. He’s a sweet person.”

Gina Carano claimed she was bullied’ by Disney

In the interview, Gina Carano also alleged she was “bullied” by Disney’s Lucasfilm, and claimed she is “not the only one”.

She said she was “head-hunted” by Disney because she “wasn’t going along with the [studio’s] narrative”.

Carano said: “You know how boxers head-hunt sometimes and forget to go for the body?

“I feel like Disney or Lucasfilm or whoever it is, just certain people at that company…I feel like I’ve been being head-hunted (…) and you can feel it.”

She added: “I could share a story which would turn things around in the media, but I can’t because it would sell out a friend.”

Carano also shared with Shapiro the devastation of “being cancelled”, saying “don’t think that when it happens to you, it’s gonna be easy because it’s not”. She said it might be “one of the hardest things that you’ve ever been through”.

Shortly after Disney’s Lucasfilm fired Carano from The Mandalorian, she was also abandoned by her agents. After that, toymaker Hasbro announced it would no longer be producing any more Cara Dune figures.

But following her firing, Carano was immediately hired by Shapiro’s The Daily Wire, who promised the former MMA fighter her own movie.

Pascal is a staunch LGBT+ ally and “served as a guide” for his trans sister Lux as she came to terms with her gender identity.
