Dita Von Teese has broken her silence on allegations that her ex-husband Marilyn Manson abused Evan Rachel Wood and several other women.

Manson, real name Brian Warner, has been accused of “grooming” and abusing his former partner Evan Rachel Wood as well as four other women. He has denied all claims.

Stylist Love Bailey has also accused the singer of holding a gun to her head and telling her he doesn’t “like faggots”.

Von Teese, who was in a relationship with Manson for seven years and married him in 2005, encouraged abuse victims to “take steps to heal” while clarifying that she did not experience such treatment from the singer.

“I have been processing the news that broke Monday regarding Marilyn Manson,” Von Teese wrote in a statement shared on Instagram on Wednesday (3 February).

“To those who have expressed you concerns of my well-being, I appreciate your kindness.

“Please know that the details made public do not match my personal experience during our seven years together as a couple. Had they, I would not have married him in December 2005. I left 12 months later due to infidelity and drug abuse.”

Von Teese added: “Abuse of any kind has no place in any relationship. I urge those of you who have incurred abuse to take steps to heal and the strength to fully realise yourself.”

The burlesque performer said she will make no further statement on the allegations against Manson.

Marilyn Manson has been accused of abuse by Evan Rachel Wood and several others.

Evan Rachel Wood had previously spoken about her experience of abuse at the hands of a romantic partner, but she had never until now named her aggressor.

On Monday (1 February), she published a statement on Instagram in which she alleged Manson had groomed her when she was just a teenager and “horrifically abused” her for years.

“I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail,” she added.

“I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives.”

A number of other women – Ashley Walters, Sarah McNeilly, Ashley Morgan and Gabriella (no surname given) – have since accused Manson of abuse, with claiming they suffered from PTSD, night terrors and OCD after their experiences with the singer.

Love Bailey first accused Manson of holding a gun to her head on social media in 2017, and she repeated those claims in a video shared on Instagram following Wood’s allegations.

Manson has been dropped by his record label and talent agency since the allegations emerged.

He has denied all allegations, branding them “horrible distortions of reality”.
