QAnon conspiracist congresswoman launches pathetic, doomed Joe Biden impeachment bid

Majorie Taylor Greene, an anti-LGBT Republican lawmaker and keen QAnon supporter, has decided to use her finite time on this planet to file articles of impeachment against Joe Biden on his first full day in office.

The Georgia Republican announced Thursday (21 January) in a video and news release posted to Twitter that she is seeking to unseat the US president for, she claimed, “his corrupt actions”.

The genuinely elected sitting member of Congress, fresh from being banned on Twitter for 12 hours after parroting Donald Trump’s baseless claims of voter fraud, said Biden is “unfit to hold office of the presidency”.

“His pattern of abuse of power as president Obama’s vice president is lengthy and disturbing,” she wrote.

She also alleged that Biden conducted exchanges with Ukraine that enabled his son Hunter Biden to “siphon off cash from America’s greatest enemies, Russia and China.

“President Biden has demonstrated he will do whatever it takes to bail out his son, Hunter, and line his family’s pockets with cash from corrupt foreign energy companies.”

While Republicans wielded such allegations of wrongdoing to tarnish Biden during the election, the party’s own senators found no evidence that Biden improperly manipulated American policy.

Majorie Taylor Greene condemned for her ’embrace of dangerous conspiracies’.

The text of Majorie Taylor Greene’s articles of impeachment specifying what, if any, impeachable offences committed by Biden were not immediately available.

An example of such an article could be, say, “incitement of insurrection”. You know, what Trump has been impeached with for a second time after he whipped up a thunderous, violent mob that stormed the US Capitol, leading to five deaths.

Indeed, as her own beloved, besieged and beaten former president prepares for his impeachment trial in the Senate, the rookie representative’s doomed impeachment bid is just the latest example of her party’s petty attempts to broadside Biden.

Greene’s tweets have certainly kept fact-checkers busy, while her legislative and online actions have agitated and alarmed LGBT+ activists.

In records compiled by monitoring groups GLAAD and Georgia Equality, Greene has launched several attacks against Drag Queen Story Time events and is currently spearheading a vile anti-trans act that would ban trans women from competing in sports.

The groups also condemned the member of Congress for her “embrace of dangerous conspiracies” spewed by QAanon.

Greene’s election to Congress last year signalled a major victory for QAnon, the once-fringe, troll-infested pro-Trump movement that went from convoluted rants on message boards to being considered a domestic terrorist threat by top domestic security agencies.

The big tent internet-driven conspiracy theory has seized the right wing with its false claims of a shadowy cabal of Democrats, with Greene among a handful of QAnon believers elected as Republican lawmakers.

Greene has sought to position “Q”, the anonymous 4chan user that claimed to be a high-ranking intelligence officer in 2017, sparking the sprawling conspiracies, as a “patriot”, records said.
