PS5: PlayStation 5 UK stock, price and preorder updates from Amazon UK, Argos, Currys PC World, GAME and more

PS5: PlayStation 5 stock will increase throughout the year, says Sony boss

The new PS5 console was one of the most popular items ahead of Christmas and it looks like demand hasn’t slowed down in the New Year.

Sony’s latest PlayStation is pretty much sold out everywhere and when a limited amount are released they’re snapped up by customers, leaving others missing out yet again.

We’ve previously given you updates on the stock of the latest Xbox console, the Series X and S, with both also proving hard to get for customers.

This time we’ve rounded up all the latest information on PS5’s stock across the biggest retailers from upcoming console release dates to games and accessories.

You can find out below the latest PS5 updates from retailers including Argos, Currys PC World, Amazon, Smyths Toys and GAME. We will also update this article as and when announcements are made for preorders or new stock releases.

GAME

This week (19 January) GAME dropped a limited amount of consoles that were snapped up instantly. Many users managed to get into a virtual queue only to be told they were ‘out of stock’ by the time they got through.

If you go to the PlayStation 5 page on the GAME website and scroll down to the ‘consoles’ section both the original and digital edition are currently out of stock, with no information on the next release.

It’s probably worth bookmarking the page and checking back regularly, as well as signing up to the mailing list for updates. Head to the GAME website here to bookmark and sign up.

Amazon

Online retail giant Amazon states it’s PlayStation 5 stock is: “Currently unavailable. We don’t know when or if this item will be back in stock.”

So this isn’t great news for customers trying to get their hands on the console. Amazon is usually pretty reliable for securing items as it has thousands if not millions of products and stock. It might be a good idea to save the page and keep checking back for any updates.

However if you have been lucky enough to bag the console then you can buy all the accessories from Amazon including the DualSense Wireless Controller, HD Camera and Media Remote.

Go to the PlayStation 5 Amazon page here for info on the console and accessories.

Smyths Toys

The Smyths website says: “Update 15 January: All PlayStation 5 stock is now allocated. Our next available date is February 2021.”

The store is offering a little more hope to customers as it’s ‘expecting stock’ in February. It might be worth bookmarking the PlayStation 5 page in your desktop or mobile browser so you can check back on 1 February and throughout the month for any releases of the console.

Go to the Smyths Toys website here to save the PlayStation 5 page.

John Lewis

Similar to other retailers John Lewis is currently out of stock of the PlayStation 5 console.

There’s currently no expected release date for the console but the retailer is offering customers some advice: “To save you time, we want to let you know that PlayStation 5 consoles are not available for purchase at any of our John Lewis & Partners stores or from our contact centres.”

The statement goes on to say that: “Partners in our contact centres are unable to say when we can expect further PS5 stock,” as well as customers being limited to one console per order when they do become available.

You can go to the John Lewis website here to bookmark the PlayStation 5 page.

Currys PC World

Another popular retailer for gaming and electronics is Currys PC World, but the website currently doesn’t even have a product page for the PS5. When you search ‘PlayStation 5’ you’ll find games and accessories and then when you filter the search to only include ‘consoles’ all that comes up is the PlayStation 4.

This is because the retailer released a limited amount on 20 January which sold out in minutes. But it’s still probably worth signing up to a Currys PC World mailing list and bookmarking the website in case there are any surprise drops.

Argos

Argos is currently out of stock of the console and the website states: “We’re working hard to make this available as soon as possible.”

The website is selling accessories and games but there’s no expected release date. Again it might be best to sign up to a mailing list and bookmark the PS5 page here.
