Mariah Carey has waved goodbye to Donald Trump with the best possible subtweet – and fans are obsessed.

The gay icon celebrated Trump’s departure from the White House by simply tweeting a GIF of herself in the music video for her 2018 song “GTFO” – and it is truly the best possible way to wave goodbye to the homophobe-in-chief.

It’s a message millions of people across the United States will be able to throw their support behind, with many having wished Trump would “get the f**k out” for quite some time.

Mariah Carey fans – AKA, the gays – didn’t take long to pick up on the singer’s less-than-subtle message to Trump as he waves goodbye to the White House.

Many took the opportunity to express their own feelings – and the feelings of the majority of the public – about Trump’s departure.

Carey’s perfect subtweet came just hours before Trump left the White House for the last time after weeks of chaos caused by his baseless claims that he was the victim of election fraud in November’s presidential election.

His claims of voter fraud eventually spiralled into outright insurrection when he encouraged a mob of white supremacists to storm the Capitol in Washington DC on 6 January.

Trump finally left the White House on Wednesday after his last full day in power, which saw him grant presidential pardons to more than 70 people, from Steve Bannon to rapper Lil Wayne.
