Dolly Parton tore into her friend RuPaul in a hilarious new interview between the two legends.
The mother of drag was left in cold blood by one Dolly Parton on Monday (7 December) in the pages of Marie Claire.
RuPaul interviewed the country legend-turned-COVID-19 saviour for the magazine, discussing their wig collections, high heels and Miley Cyrus.
The pair were talking breakfast (Dolly had made sausage patties, biscuits and gravy for her and her husband just before their chat), when RuPaul asked if Dolly had been wearing her high heels in the kitchen that day.
“I always wear my high heels. Don’t you?” she answered.
“No,” said RuPaul. “That’s the thing: There are similarities in what we do, but I take all that stuff off.”
Dolly replied: “Well, I don’t. I have to always stay ready — street ready, I always say. I have to keep my makeup on and keep my hair done.
“Like, when I’m in LA – I’ve told you about it – if it’s going to earthquake, if we get an earthquake, I’m not running out in the street looking like you look now.”

Dolly Parton tells RuPaul she’s a ‘living drag queen’.
Elsewhere in the interview RuPaul and Dolly Parton discussed their extensive wig collections.
Both have hairpieces that are more than 20 years old, but as Dolly explained: “Most of them are more museum-type pieces too.
“I don’t think I have any that I wear that are that old now, but I know what you mean.
“See, you’re a drag queen. Those are like costumes to you. This is my living self. I am a living drag queen.
“You dress up just now and then, but for me, though, I like the wigs and I wear them almost every day.”
Of course, Dolly and RuPaul are old friends, having first met in the early aughts at a radio station where Michelle Visage was a presenter.
“I thought he was big and beautiful. We’re just like twins, except he’s about four feet taller,” Dolly said in 2016, when the pair interviewed each other for Dazed.
In the same interview, RuPaul explained that it was both Dolly’s music and her image that resonated with him.
“Drag says: ‘I don’t take myself too seriously.’ In fact, image is something to have fun with, and to play with, and that’s what her image does,” he sad.
Dolly added: “I think dressing up has saved my life. I always said if I hadn’t been a woman I would have been a drag queen. For sure.
“And it’s been a joy to do this, because I was not born a natural beauty, nor was Ru, but I think we’re beautiful in our own way, and whatever makes you feel beautiful is what you should do.”
