Britney Spears gives rare update on her personal life as fight to remove her father from conservatorship drags on

Britney Spears gave a rare and welcomed update on her personal life Monday (October 2), assuring fans she is OK and happier than ever.

The pop icon said in an Instagram video: “I know there has been a lot of comments and a lot of people saying a lot of different thing about me, but I just want to let you guys know that I am fine.

“I am the happiest I have ever been in my life. And I am sending you guys a lot of prayers and wishes and a lot of love.”

Britney fans took the video as a veiled message on the ongoing Free Britney movement, as the singer and her legal counsel are waging in the courts to change the conservatorship that governs her entire life.

Celebrities like former Drag Race winner Aquaria commented with heart emojis.

Gemma Collins also commented, saying: “Keep Fabulous!”

Britney Spears is fighting to remove her father from her conservatorship.

A day after Britney posted her video, her attorney filed court papers seeking to remove her father from her conservatorship, the legal arrangement that governs her finances, business affairs and large swathes of her personal life.

Since her public breakdown 12 years ago, the star has lived under a complex court arrangement which sees her wellbeing and estate, among other things, controlled largely by her father, Jamie.

Britney’s court-appointed lawyer Samuel Ingham argued in papers filed Tuesday (November 3) that if Jamie is re-installed into her conservatorship, the singer will suffer “loss and injury”, NME reported.

Ingham is jockeying with the California courts to remove Jamie from his position as soon as a new conservator, the Bessemer Trust, is appointed.

A source close to the star told US Weekly in September said that Britney is also fighting to see her sons more, saying: “Britney wants to live her life on her terms and is very displeased with the current custody arrangement. She needs to see the boys much more than she currently is.”
