Britney Spears tells court she’ll suffer ‘loss and injury’ unless her father is replaced with an ‘honest’ conservator

Britney Spears’ attorney has filed court papers in a bid to remove her father Jamie Spears from her conservatorship, to the delight of the Free Britney movement.
Britney’s court-appointed lawyer Samuel Ingham argued in papers filed Tuesday (November 3) that if Jamie is re-installed into her conservatorship, the singer will suffer “loss and injury”, NME reported.
Since her public breakdown 12 years ago, the star has lived under a complex court arrangement which sees her wellbeing and estate, among other things, controlled largely by her father, Jamie.
But Britney is out to change that. Ingham is jockeying with the California courts to remove Jamie from his position as soon as a new conservator, the Bessemer Trust, is appointed.
The private firm manages the wealth of more than 2,500 rich families, and Ingham is vying for a more “honest broker” to handle the “Toxic” hitmaker’s finances. A hearing has been for November 10.

Lou Taylor left in “very sudden” circumstances, Ingham said. Jamie then allegedly sought to replace him with a new manager, Michael Kane of accounting firm Miller Kaplan, without consulting Spears.
He was reportedly not interviewed for the role, nor were other applicants even considered.

Britney was also left in the dark about how much money Kane would earn and the terms of his employment, the documents claimed.
Kane was assigned the role last Sunday (November 1), they added.
Ingham said the action was a “blatant attempt by James to try to retain full functional control of her assets, books and records in the face of Britney’s objections, TriStar’s resignation and the appointment of Bessemer Trust.”
The 10-page filing continued: “The suggestion that James will hold onto Britney’s assets even after Bessemer Trust is appointed gives rise to a very serious concern as to the safety of Britney’s estate.
“Under any circumstances, having an outside accounting firm retain control of the record-keeping function for the conservatorship rather than Bessemer Trust is completely inappropriate.”
