After Lady Gaga was insulted by Donald Trump, her own dad appeared to endorse the Republican and his bid for re-election.

Hours after Lady Gaga delivered an impassioned and fearless speech at a Biden rally tearing into Trump’s history of boasting about sexual assault, her own father, Joe Germanotta, tweeted three words: “Donald Trump 2020.”

A since-deleted tweet continued: “You may have noticed my political and spiritual beliefs are different. Liberty and freedom of choice would not be political.”

Fans were surprised by Joe’s endorsement, considering his daughter has been actively sparring with Trump for the last week.

After Gaga joined the Biden campaign in Pennsylvania for its final days, Trump’s team dubbed her an “anti-fracking activist” in a statement shared on social media.

Trump went on to slam then singer at a rally in Pennsylvania – the swing state which at the time of writing, hangs in the balance, much like the presidency itself.

“He’s got Lady Gaga, Lady Gaga, I could tell you plenty of stories,” Trump said. “I could tell you stories about Lady Gaga, I know a lot of stories.”

Hours later, Gaga delivered an impassioned and fearless speech at a Biden rally in retaliation.

She asked all people “with daughters, and sisters, and mothers” to “vote against Donald Trump, a man who believes his fame gives him the right to grab one of your daughters, or sisters, or mothers or wives by any part of their bodies”.

Gaga is herself a survivor of sexual assault, having earlier this year opened up to Oprah Winfrey about the repeated sexual abuse she endured as a teen, prompting the media mogul to break down in tears.

Her remonstration of Trump has stretched back to 2016, when she openly campaigned for Hillary Clinton and even staged a protest outside Trump Tower in Manhattan, New York City on the final night of the election.
