Pete Buttigieg reveals what was going through his mind as he dominated Trump supporter who hijacked his rally
Pete Buttigieg described what was going through his mind while he calmly took down a seething Donald Trump supporter during a stump speech in Florida last week.
Appearing on The View Tuesday afternoon (November 3), the former South Bend mayor gave his regular wrap of unity as he described the moment an incensed heckled approached him at a Joe Biden campaign rally.
At St. Pete, the 38-year-old’s speech was interrupted when a man wearing a Make America Great Again mask and poorly-fitting cargo shorts attempted to hamper it, hurling abuse and pointing at Buttigieg as he live-streamed on his mobile.
Buttigieg admitted that not only can these disruptive dust-ups be “frustrating”, but the freewheeling tactic is not reflective of what he sees America as.

“It’s frustrating,” he said, “when someone thinks instead of going out and cheering for their person they gotta get in your face and get in your way.
“I also knew that the folks that had gathered to see me speak were there for a reason, and the spirit of what we were doing there was a lot bigger than this guy trying to disrupt everything.
“So, I thought the best thing I could do was point to some shared humanity – I doubt he’s going to vote the way I’m going to vote.
“This idea of constant disruption or even the president seeming to give kind of a wink and a nod to political violence, that’s not who we are. That’s not America.
“I don’t care what side you vote for. And I think most Americans already believe that and agree with that. And that’s part of what we have to re-establish as soon as we turn the page off the Trump years.”
Pete Buttigieg calmly owned a Donald Trump supporter who hijacked his stump speech.
While stumping for the Biden-Harris ticket, Buttigieg cooly reeled in a Trump advocate who sought to stymie the event.
As staffers attempted to move him on, Buttigieg rallied: “Wouldn’t it be nice to have a president who will serve him just as enthusiastically as he will serve us?

“Wouldn’t it be nice to have a president who cares just as much about protecting the lives of those that protest us as those who stand at our side?”
The man, however, continued to hurl abuse at the former presidential hopeful. “Can I finish my remarks?” Buttigieg, with his trademark poise, sniped.

“Are you afraid to hear what I have to say?”
“Do you denounce white supremacy?”
When the man nodded in agreement, he continued: “Good, then we agree on something. That’s a beginning point.
“See if you can get your president to do the same thing.”
