Elton John has revealed that he has “no interest in being Elton at the minute”, and would rather spend time with his family.

Chatting to BBC Radio 6 Music,  John described his experiences of being stuck at home after the pandemic forced him to postpone his farewell tour.

“All I’ve been doing is finishing off a couple of musicals that I’ve written,” he said.

“I did a [Lady] Gaga track. I have a few lyrics from Bernie Taupin, which are wonderful, but I have no interest in being Elton at the minute.”

The 73-year-old continued: “So I’ve been working with other people, which is fun, and staying away from me.”

But being “Elton” isn’t the only thing the “Rocketman” hitmaker is no longer interested in.

The singer appeared in an Instagram Live video with Teyana Taylor after they collaborated on her new track “Lose Each Other”.

Lose each other VIDEO OUT NOW 💜

Elton told Teyana that how he feels there are no “classy” music videos in modern music.

“There really aren’t many classy videos out there. They are what they are. This one is the Rolls-Royce of videos,” he said to Teyana.

Elton – shock – much prefers the  “Lose Each Other” video, directed by Teyana, which sees her pose among statues as the British legend plays piano.

“That’s why I love the video so much,” he said.

“You don’t often get stuff like that. I mean normal videos have everyone shaking their booty and this was a piece of art!”

Elton John says British churches are ‘failing’ LGBT+ people.

Elton John threw his support last week to a drive organised by 400 church leaders across various denominations to make places of worship safer for queer people in Britain.

According to The Guardian, he said: “The failure of many churches to welcome, accept and include LGBT+ people creates stigma, loneliness, fear and denial, causing lasting damage to their wellbeing and mental health.”
