The first guest judge for Drag Race UK season two just announced herself – and we’re gagging

RuPaul looking shocked

Drag Race UK season two will feature none other than Dawn French as a guest judge.

The Vicar of Dibley actor let the news slip during the latest episode of Jessie Ware’s podcast Table Manners on Wednesday (October 21).

French said: “Here’s a little scoop I’m going to give you. I’m going to be one of the [Drag Race UK] guest judges.

“They did originally ask me to be a full-time judge, but I couldn’t – I don’t live in London.

“But I am going to be a guest judge in a couple of weeks.”

The comic hinted at some of the changes Drag Race UK has made in order to resume production after being disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic.

“I think there’s going to be Perspex between each judge kind of thing,” she said.

“That’s a shame because I really do want to touch Ru!”

“Our lips are sealed,” a representative of the BBC told PinkNews.

“Our extra-special celebrity judges will be revealed in due course.”

Drag Race UK season two about to resume filming after coronavirus delays.

The leak comes hot off the heels of resident Drag Race UK judge, Alan Carr, confirming that the spin-off is set to resume filming shortly.

Drag Race UK was tipped to return to screens this year, but the pandemic forced production to shut down halfway through the season.

“I’m filming in a fortnight’s time,” Carr said on Lorraine Tuesday (October 20), “so that will be nice to just get that finished”.

He added: “It’s also good for some of the drag queens who maybe their sewing wasn’t that good, because in the lockdown, if they’ve got any sense, they’d be on that sewing machine, with that pedal down!

“No excuse, love.”

The last official news on the series was a statement in March on a “temporary pause” for production.

It said: “In light of the spread of COVID-19, after much consideration, production on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK will be temporarily pausing filming both in consultation with and supported by the BBC.

“We will continue to review all productions on a case by case basis and will continue to follow the latest news and advice from the Foreign Office, World Health Organisation and Public Health England.”
