Reynhard Sinaga, believed to be Britain's most prolific rapist

The “most prolific rapist” in British legal history, Reynhard Sinaga, could be sentenced to die behind bars if he is given a whole life tariff at a Court of Appeal hearing next month.

Sinaga, 37, is linked to more than 190 potential victims, many of whom were gay and bisexual men he lured from outside Manchester nightclubs.

In January the Indonesian student was sentenced to life for a total of 159 offences, including 136 counts of rape committed against 48 men.

Judge Suzanne Goddard QC described Sinaga as “an evil serial sexual predator” and a “monster”. She ruled his life sentence must include a minimum of 30 years in jail, but this could be significantly extended after the attorney general’s office found the sentence to be “unduly lenient”.

The rapist has now been referred to the Court of Appeal, where his case will be heard over two days on October 14-15.

Solicitor general Michael Ellis QC will argue that Sinaga be handed a whole life tariff for his litany of sexual offences, which are “some of the worst and most violent that this country has ever witnessed”.

Reynhard Sinaga is said to have taken “a particular pleasure in preying on heterosexual men” who had been kicked out of nightclubs or who had lost their friends.

Some had a dead phone battery or no money for a taxi home, and would gladly follow Sinaga when offered a floor to sleep on or an invitation to have a few more drinks. He would then drug them with GHB and sexually assault them, filming as he did so.

Reynhard Sinaga quoted Little Mix lyrics to brag about his ‘Black Magic’ crimes.

After the attacks the rapist proudly bragged about his heinous exploits using references to Little Mix songs.

In a WhatsApp exchange with friends he quoted the lyrics to one song, telling them he relied on “Black Magic”. He continued: “Take a sip of my secret poison, I’ll make you fall in love… One drop should should be enough.”

In other messages, he wrote: “SuperRey saves straight boys from their monstrous girlfriend.”

According to the Manchester Evening News, prosecutor Iain Simkin said of the messages: “He is admitting there what he is doing. He’s boasting about it.

“It is breathtaking that not only is he committing these offences and filming these offences, he’s boasting about these offences.”

The vast majority of victims did not know what had happened to them, and Sinaga’s crimes were only uncovered after one man woke up mid-rape and fought him off, sparking a police investigation.

Assistant chief constable Mabbs Hussain said that the full extent of his crimes will probably never be known.

“The information and evidence we are going from is largely from trophies that he’s collected from the victims of his crimes,” he said.
