Demi Lovato ‘calls off wedding’ to actor Max Ehrich just two months after announcing their engagement
Demi Lovato has reportedly called off her engagement to actor Max Ehrich just two months after he popped the question in Malibu, California.
Lovato – who has said she is open to dating women and is “very fluid” in her sexuality – announced her engagement to the Young and the Restless actor in July just months after they were first rumoured to be dating.
But the singer, 28, and her fiancé have apparently gotten cold feet and opted to cancel their wedding plans, according to an inside source.
The insider told PEOPLE: “It was a tough decision, but Demi and Max have decided to go their separate ways to focus on their respective careers.
“They have respect and love for one another and will always cherish the time they spent together,” the source added.
Demi Lovato and Max Ehrich found love at first sight.
Posting a photo of herself and Ehrich on Instagram, along with a picture of a huge diamond ring, Lovato wrote: “When I was a little girl, my birth dad always called me his ‘little partner’ – something that might’ve sounded strange without his southern cowboy like accent. To me it made perfect sense.
“And today that word makes perfect sense again but today I’m officially going to be someone else’s partner.”
In a message to Ehrich, Lovato wrote: “I knew I loved you the moment I met you. It was something I can’t describe to anyone who hasn’t experienced it firsthand but luckily you did too.

“You never pressure me to be anything other than myself. And you make me want to be the best version of myself.”
She added: “I’m honoured to accept your hand in marriage. I love you more than a caption could express but I’m ecstatic to start a family and life with you.”
On September 7, the singer celebrated six months with Ehrich on Instagram Stories.
“Happy six months to my darling, the best father these pups could ever ask for,” Lovato wrote, sharing a photo of Ehrich playing with their two pet dogs.
“I love you BEYOND. Thank you for making my life so much better. I love you baby.”
