Trans YouTuber NikkieTutorials joins Drag Race Holland line-up along with not one but two Eurovision legends

NikkieTutorials and the cast of Drag Race Holland

Drag Race Holland has RuVealed a glittering panel of judges, with NikkieTutorials leading the line-up of special guests.

Fashion designer Nikkie Plessen will be Drag Race Holland’s very own Michelle Visage, it has been announced, joining host Fred van Leer each week to judge the Dutch queens’ charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent.

Plessen said she was thrilled to be joining the queer behemoth, explaining: “What appeals and inspires me the most in drag is that it involves so much creativity and that it goes beyond just creating a beautiful outfit.

“With my fashion background, it is amazing to be part of this. But girls you gotta do something for it… you’d better work that runway hunties!”

Joining Plessen and van Leer on Drag Race Holland will be a cast of regular rotating judges (think Ross Matthews and Carson Kressley).

They are singer Roxeanne Hazes, fashion designer Claes Iversen, comedian Sanne Wallis de Vries and gay actor Rick Paul van Mulligen.

Each week a special guest judge will also sit on the panel. Leading the pack are YouTuber and trans icon NikkieTutorials, and Dutch model Loiza Lamers, the first trans person to win a Next Top Model series.

Rounding out the list of Drag Race Holland guest judges are intersex musician Ryanne van Dorst; mother of the House of Vineyard, Amber Vineyard; TV personality Carlo Boszhard and not one but two Eurovision entrants: 1993’s Ruth Jacott and 1998’s Edsilia Rombley.

Along with the judging line-up, Drag Race Holland has released its first trailer, showing the 10 queens walking through the windmill-inspired werk room doors.

As with Canada’s Drag Race, RuPaul will address the queens via RuMail, with Fred van Leer taking on hosting duties throughout the competition.

Drag Race Holland premieres this week.

Hot on the heels of Canada’s Drag Race, the Dutch spin-off will land on screens globally this week.

Drag Race Holland will premiere on streaming service WOW Presents Plus in the UK on Thursday (September 17) at 11pm, and on the same day in the US at 3pm PST.

The series will begin on Friday (September 18) in all other countries (apart from the Netherlands), and will come with English, Spanish and Portuguese subtitles.

In the Netherlands, Drag Race Holland will air on Videoland the same day.
