Caitlyn Jenner has responded to “homophobic, transphobic” comedian Joe Rogan after he misgendered her and suggested she was trans because of her “crazy” family.

In an episode of his podcast The Joe Rogan Experience on Friday (11 September), Rogan “joked” that Caitlyn Jenner had transitioned because she had lived with the Kardashians.

Deadnaming and misgendering Jenner throughout, Rogan said: “Maybe if you live with crazy b***hes long enough, they f**king turn you into one. Maybe you go crazy.”

“We lost a f**king Olympic gold medalist, goddamn it,” he added. “We lost one of our greatest athletes ever.”

Rogan insisted that he was not “dehumanising trans people”, and that he was simply asking: “Are we sure?”

Speaking with TMZ on Wednesday (16 September), Jenner responded to Rogan’s comments, describing him as a “homophobic, transphobic a**”.

She said: “He calls my family, especially the girls, crazy b***hes, and he does this all the time.

“Let’s get real here. My daughters have obviously done extremely well. They’re more famous, they have more money than he has, they have just about everything more than he has.

“He’s gotten his fame by putting other people down and making jokes about it. My family has done it through hard work.”

Jenner said that Rogan’s suggestion that her family had caused her to transition was “not even close”.

She continued: “I have been gender dysphoric my entire life… Once I got to the point in life where my kids were raised, and they’re all doing well, maybe I could live the remainder of my life authentically.

“And it has been the most wonderful I’ve ever had. I wake up in the morning every day and I’m so happy because I can just be myself all day.”

Asked what her message to Rogan would be, she said: “Being gender dysphoric, transitioning, all of that is not a joke. It’s very serious stuff, concerning family, friends, society… I just feel like Joe Rogan has a lot to learn.”
