Donald Trump, who’s made it his mission to destroy trans lives, says Joe Biden will ‘demolish the American dream’

Donald Trump, who has worked tirelessly to destroy trans lives throughout his presidency, has said Joe Biden will “demolish the American dream” if elected in November.

Trump made the comments in a 75-minute speech on Thursday (August 27) on the final night of the Republican National Convention (RNC).

The business mogul has dedicated much of his presidency to dismantling LGBT+ rights, but called Biden “the destroyer of American greatness”.

Accepting the party’s official nomination, Trump said: “This election will decide whether we save the American dream, or whether we allow a socialist agenda to demolish our cherished destiny.

“Your vote will decide whether we protect law-abiding Americans, or whether we give free rein to violent anarchists, agitators and criminals who threaten our citizens.”

Donald Trump accused Democrats of ‘tearing down’ America by drawing attention to racism and social issues.

Trump lambasted Democrats for “tearing down” the country by drawing attention to systemic racism, as well as social and economic injustice.

“Tonight, I ask you a very simple question – how can the Democrat party ask to lead our country when it spends so much time tearing down our country?” he said.

“In the left’s backward view, they do not see America as the most free, just and exceptional nation on earth. Instead, they see a wicked nation that must be punished for its sins.”

Your vote will decide whether we protect law-abiding Americans, or whether we give free rein to violent anarchists, agitators and criminals who threaten our citizens.

He went on to claim that Biden has spent his career “outsourcing the dreams of American workers” by “offshoring their jobs” and “opening their borders”.

In total, Trump mentioned Biden more than 40 times during his speech – but he failed to mention LGBT+ rights even once.

Trump has rolled back queer rights throughout his presidency.

In 2016, Trump became the first Republican nominee for the presidency to mention the LGBT+ community in his convention speech – but queer people have been left out in the cold under his presidency as he doggedly rolls back LGBT+ rights.

According to GLAAD’s Trump Accountability Project, the president has attacked queer people more than 160 times since taking office.

The Trump administration has banned transgender people from serving in the military, actively supported discrimination against LGBT+ people in employmentservices and healthcare and erased LGBT+ resources, data and language from government websites.

On June 12, 2020, the fourth anniversary of the Pulse massacre, the Trump administration cruelly erased precious healthcare protections for trans patients, although luckily the rollback was temporarily blocked by a federal judge this week.

Despite all of this, some Republicans have tried to claim that Trump is the most “pro-gay” president in US history.
