Leslie Jordan shared the moment he listened to Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s “WAP” for the first time and he truly must be protected at all costs.

At 65 years old, the Will & Grace star has proven that age is no barrier to the zeitgeist, becoming one of the internet’s favourite cultural commentators and Instagram stars while in lockdown.

Case in point: his spectaclur reaction video to “WAP” – the Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion collab that’s given countless women and queers of all genders life, and left many a Republican frothing at the mouth.

More than one million have marvelled at the moment Jordan realises “WAP” is an acronym for “Wet A*s P***y”.

“Oh lord, no no no,” he laughs in the Instagram video.

“I think I just lost a few years off my life,” he added in a caption.

“I almost had a heart attack. Cardi B, you can’t be kissing me with that dirty mouth.”

Jordan has previously delighted fans with his astute musical taste, sharing his feelings on the “wet and wild” Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande track “Rain on Me”.

His response to “WAP” made a welcome change from the slew of hot takes offered up freely by cis, straight white men, who seem unable to wrap their minds around the song’s central conceit.

Russell Brand, who in 2020 is mostly remembered as the guy Katy Perry used to be married to, shared his thoughts on the track in a 17-minute video asked for by precisely nobody.

Pondering whether the song and its video should be considered a “feminist masterpiece” or “porn”, Brand said he wasn’t sure “if it demonstrates progress”. This, from a man who has openly admitted to leaving his children’s nappies to his wife, and who once taunted actor Andrew Sachs about having slept with his granddaughter. A feminist, indeed.

For some reason known only to Brand, he also invoked Margaret Thatcher, who he deemed a “brilliant politician”.

Meanwhile, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion this week gave away $1 million to “powerful women”, handing out $500 gifts to 2,000 fans.
