Drag Race Holland has unveiled its new host ahead of the Netherlands spin-off’s eagerly-awaited debut, which is set for release sooner than anticipated.

RuPaul has invited Dutch TV presenter and stylist Fred van Leer to host the latest international edition of the queer phenomenon.

“I know you’re going to do an awesome job finding Holland’s first Drag Race superstar,” the mother of drag says in a trailer.

Drag Race Holland will see van Leer emcee as ten Dutch queens battle for the crown.

Having began his career as a stylist, the 43-year-old made his TV debut on Dames in de Dop, a Dutch adaptation of the English reality show Ladette to Lady.

From there he became a coach on Holland’s Next Top Model and has since hosted a local version of Say Yes To The Dress.

Van Leer said his latest job is “a dream”.

“I still can’t believe I’ll host Drag Race Holland with the blessing of RuPaul,” he said in a statement.

“This program is everything I believe in and stand for. It’s all about charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent and I can’t wait to see all the fantastic creations of the queens on the runway, the lip syncs and all the challenges we created.

“A first message to our queens: ‘You’d better work b***h! Good luck and don’t f**k it up!'”

Drag Race Holland release date confirmed, and it starts pretty soon.

Along with the announcement of van Leer’s involvement, it’s also been confirmed when Drag Race Holland will start.

The show will debut on September 18 – coincidentally, van Leer’s birthday – with new episodes airing on subsequent Fridays.

The eight-part series will be broadcast on Videoland in the Netherlands, and will stream on WOW Presents Plus international.

The judges and guest judge line-up will be announced before Drag Race Holland is released.

It had previously been reported that Dutch drag queen Diva Mayday would be involved in the show after she posted about “Dutch RPDR” before the show was announced.
