Britney Spears’ former make-up artist ready to ‘spill the tea’ as he throws his weight behind the Free Britney movement

Britney Spears’ former make-up artist Billy Brasfield is the latest star to throw his weight behind the Free Britney campaign.

Brasfield – who is better known as Billy B – has worked with Spears on a number of projects over the years, including the music video for “Scream & Shout” and her live appearances on The X Factor.

The make-up artist and ex-Drag Race judge opened up about his time working with the singer in a series of Instagram posts, and went on to tell The Blast that the Free Britney movement is a “serious matter”.

Spears is currently entangled in a 12-year long conservatorship, a legal arrangement typically reserved for the elderly or the extremely ill.

Since the singer was placed under a conservatorship by a court in 2008 following her public breakdown, much of the details have been kept under wraps.

Under the arrangement, her father has held responsibility for her affairs and her physical wellbeing.

Fans have been calling for years for the singer to be freed from the conservatorship, with the arrangement drawing widespread attention in recent months.

Billy B told fans that ‘anyone deserves freedom’ in an impassioned show of support for Britney Spears.

Writing on Instagram, Brasfield told fans that there is “plenty of tea to be spilled” and expanded on his concerns for Spears in an emotional post.

“Britney Spears has incredible, passionate fans… Trust me I know because a few of you ‘came for me’,” he wrote.

He urged fans of the singer to “scream and shout” if that’s what it takes to get attention.

“This is what I will say,” he continued. “I was booked with Britney once… and it took only that one time for me to ❤️ Britney, not the superstar but the person.

“I worked everyday with her for quite some time… I got to know her, I got to ‘see’ her…”

The famed make-up artist went on to say that, like fans, he is “concerned” for Spears’ welfare.

Call me what you want, but I have eyes, and the world is watching.

“I will do whatever I can if asked… to help her, to ‘free Britney’,” he said.

“Anyone deserves freedom. But trust, #itscomplicated.

“Thank you guys for loving her and caring about her… and for understanding what I know, that you know, and what ‘I am saying’.”

Brasfield went on to reply to a number of Free Britney supporters, telling them that he only wants to “spill the tea” to a person in a position of authority who could help the singer.

He added: “It’s time to not care about being black balled in Hollywood or worrying about a career, it’s time to stand up and do what’s right.”

The make-up artist suggested that Britney’s life is like ‘an endless episode of Toddlers & Tiaras.

In a subsequent post, Brasfield hit out at claims made by Spears’ father Jamie that the Free Britney movement is a “conspiracy theory”.

“When someone deems you a conspiracy theorist… off the top of my head I’ll offer this analogy,” he wrote.

“Let’s pretend that, OK, um the biggest star in the world is on stage, let’s say Broadway or even Las Vegas, a choreographed performance, in front of thousands, not just one time but every night.

“But when offstage is told that they are incapable of essentially doing anything else but being a trick pony in a endless episode of Toddlers and Tiaras… and that just happens over and over.

“Well that doesn’t make much sense, even to the average person like me.”

He added: “OK, so if I think that sounds weird… then I am a conspiracy theorist.

“Call me what you want, but I have eyes, and the world is watching.”

Brasfield’s comments come just days after Jamie Spears branded the Free Britney movement a “joke” and demanded their arrangement was “no one else’s business”.

Speaking to The Post, he said: “I love my daughter. It’s up to the court of California to decide what’s best for my daughter.”
