Doja Cat caught COVID-19 after saying she ‘didn’t give a f**k’ about the virus and mocked those who’re afraid of it
Doja Cat, who has said “f****t” as much as she’s said “moo”, has revealed that she was sickened with the coronavirus – months after downplaying the severity of the virus and comparing it to the flu.
The 24-year-old rapper revealed to Capital XTRA that she experienced symptoms of the virus for four days and that it has since cleared up.
She blamed the American food delivery service Postmates on how she was sickened, although, many health experts and agencies have minimised the threat posed by surfaces, such as packaging, and the food itself in transmitting the virus.
In fact, experts say, takeout and delivery, especially contactless delivery, are low risk. Even if an infected person did touch the package, they note, the risk of transmission is very slim.
Moreover, Postmates introduced non-contact deliveries as early as March – it was around this time that Doja Cat insisted the virus poses no threat to people and said taking cough medicine and drinking tea is enough to recover.
Doja Cat said she had a ‘four-day symptoms freak out’ over the coronavirus.
“I got COVID,” she told hosts Yinka and Shnya Marie.
“Honestly, I don’t know how this happens but I guess I ordered something off of Postmates and I don’t know how I got it but I got it.”
The “Say So” singer added: “I’m OK now. It was a four-day symptom freak out but I’m fine now.”
Although, Doja Cat, known off-stage as Amalaratna Zandile Dlamini, did not specifiy whether she tested positive for the virus, or just showed symptoms.
‘I don’t give a f**k about corona, bitch.’
It comes after Doja Cat repeatedly downplayed the novel coronavirus, which has killed more than 654,000 people, and even mocked those who are afraid of it.

“I’m gonna get corona and then I’m gonna get a Corona, cause I don’t give a f**k about corona, bitch,” she said on an Instagram Live.
“It’s a flu! Ya’ll are pussies.
“You just take some Mucinex and drink water and tea and sleep. That’s all you gotta do.
“Y’all are so scared of some damn corona that I need a Corona.”
This is not the first time Doja Cat has courted controversy. In May, she was accused of taking part in “racist conversation” on online alt-right chat rooms which she vehemently denied.
She was also forced to apologise in 2018 after she tweeted that she’s “said f****t roughly, like, 15,000 times in my life.”
