Drag Race sashays over to Europe as RuPaul announces spin-off series with a brand-new host

Drag Race Holland is the latest step in RuPaul’s bid for world domination.
RuPaul confirmed Drag Race is headed for the Netherlands just hours after Shea Couleé became the franchise’s latest winner.
“Hello Holland,” RuPaul said in a video Sunday (July 26), announcing that her “beloved” show will arrive on mainland Europe for the very first time “with a brand-new host”.
Drag Race producers and World of Wonder co-founders Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato confirmed that 10 queens will compete to become the Netherland’s first drag superstar, taking on classic challenges and weekly lip syncs.
“We firmly believe in charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent and can’t wait to welcome these 10 talented queens into the Drag Race family,” they said.
The new series will air on Videoland in the Netherlands and on WOW Presents Plus internationally.

Drag Race Holland host leaked?
It hasn’t yet been announced who will take the reins from RuPaul for the spin-off, however speculation is rife that Dutch queen Diva Mayday will do the honours after she posted about “Dutch RPDR” on Instagram a fortnight ago.
News of Drag Race Holland comes after Barbato and Bailey teased “three of four” international editions were in the works on top of those that have already aired.
So far, Drag Race has been exported to the UK – where RuPaul and Michelle Visage were recently forced to pause filming on season two due to coronavirus – as well as Canada, Thailand and South America (The Switch Drag Race). An Australian version was also announced in August 2019, but has yet to materialise.
In the US, the franchise will be extended once more with Drag Race: Vegas Revue, a fly-on-the-wall docuseries following Yvie Oddly, Asia O’Hara, Derrick Barry, Naomi Smalls, Vanessa ‘Vanjie’ Matteo and Kameron Michaels as they gear up for the launch of RuPaul’s Drag Race: Live! in Las Vegas.
