After Halle Berry expressed interest in playing a trans man for a future film, 50 Cent is convinced he must be gay for thinking she’s “still beautiful”, proving once again, that being a straight man is truly a curse.

Halle Berry weathered intense criticism after clumsily suggesting she was planning to play a trans man in an upcoming film.

As her comments radiated across social media, the actor offered a swift apology. She pulled out of the project, expressed a more thoughtful, reflective understanding of gender identities, and vowed to become an “ally” both on and off-camera.

Naturally, 50 Cent decided to weigh in, unprompted. Like many he expressed confusion over how to perceive Berry, a cis woman, playing the role of a trans man, but unlike anybody with sense landed at the completely natural conclusion that he must be gay if he still finds her attractive.

“You wanted to do what? Why?,” he asked on Instagram, sharing a Daily Mail headline that explains how Berry had backtracked.

“Oh my God,” he continued. “So if I still think you’re beautiful. I’m gay a** a MF.”

50 Cent has always been like this.

The rapper turned TV supremo has long-standing form when it comes to what we will generously describe as extremely unsavoury jokes about the LGBT+ community.

In a 2010 spat with celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, he tweeted: “Perez Hilton calld [sic] me douchebag so I had my homie shoot up a gay wedding. Wasn’t his but still made me feel better.”

The same year, 50 Cent suggested that men who do not sleep with women should “just kill” themselves.

He wrote: “If you are a man and your [sic] over 25 and you don’t eat p***y just kill yourself damn it. The world will be a better place.”

In 2015, he complained about “gay stuff” on the TV show Empire – a rival to his own creation, Power.

He wrote: “There are 3 million less viewers who tuned into last night’s Empire episode! Did you watch it? We could not take the extra gay stuff or celebrity stuff last night!”

While in 2020, he revived his beef rapper Young Buck, resorting to the played-out track of homophobia.
