Luke Evans shared a message of Pride and authenticity as he gave fans an insight into life with boyfriend Rafa Olarra.

The Beauty and the Beast star took to Instagram Sunday (June 28) to celebrate LGBT+ Pride Month, sharing a rare selfie of the pair and urging his 2.7 million followers to be their most authentic selves.

Evans, 41, captioned the snap: “Always try and be the best, most authentic version of yourself.

“Hold that person tight. Smile, breath deep, stand tall and be proud.”

It comes after Evans posted fan art from the Disney musical cartoon, this time illustrating his character Gaston and LeFou embracing wearing the titular character’s outfits.

“Happy Pride Month, lovers!” he said, alongside an array of Pride-themed hashtags and rainbow heart emojis.

Luke Evans’ boyfriend Rafa Olarra is an art director.

Luke Evans and his boyfriend Rafa Olarra first made their aggressively attractive relationship public back in February.

He shared a video clip of them while on holiday in Hawaii.

“He loves my Welsh humour,” Evans wrote. “No, honestly, he does!”

The actor came out as gay in 2002, but has mostly kept his private life to himself since.

In 2017 he addressed his approach with The Jackal magazine, saying: “There’s a dignity to keeping private.

“I’m trying to keep a bit of dignity to my private life and to protect the people in my life.”

Asked if being gay is a challenge in Hollywood, he said: “That question is difficult to answer.

“I don’t know how ‘Hollywood’ as you call it, thinks. I don’t think about it. I don’t feel they’re connected. Talent, success, what you do in your personal life – I don’t see how one should have an effect on the other.”

Olarra is an art director at Faena – a chain of luxury hotels with locations in Miami Beach and Buenos Aires. It’s unclear how the Argentinean native met Evans, but the pair have kept details of their budding romance relatively secret.
