A lesbian couple have been found brutally stabbed to death in their Thailand hotel room, in what police suspect was a murder suicide.

Ratree Sriwiboon, 24, and Patsanan Chanprapat, 29, were found dead in their room at a beach resort in the tourist hotspot of Pattaya, about 100 kilometres southeast of Bangkok on Sunday.

According to The Pattaya News, the lesbian couple were at the Thailand resort with Sriwiboon’s family on holiday.

Pattaya police and emergency responders arrived on the scene to find both bodies covered in stab wounds and their room covered in blood.

Chanprapat had stab wounds on her neck and torso and Sriwiboon had wounds on her neck and left ribs. A pocket knife was found under Chanprapat’s body, according to The Sun.

Police major Tanongsak Inphadung told the newspaper that there was no sign of an intruder on the resort’s CCTV footage, leading them to believe it was a murder suicide.

He said: “Initially, there was no evidence that the two were murdered by another person so we suspect it started with an argument that escalated to violence.

”The family of the younger women believe that the fight started from an emotional problem.”

Police suspect that Chanprapat killed Sriwiboon before taking her own life, but investigations are ongoing.

Inphadung added: “There are no suspects in the two deaths but we are interviewing witnesses and friends find the cause of the argument.

”Hospital tests on the bodies will examine the exact injuries to find how they both died.”

Sriwiboon’s brother Pairoj, who found the couple dead on Sunday morning, said they the group had all been together drinking alcohol the night before.

He added that both victims had been heavily intoxicated, but there had been no sign of an argument that evening.

Pairoj said: “Everything was quite normal during the party, so that’s why we are all in shock now.

“I did not know much about their relationship, so on the surface it seemed fine.

“However, I knew that my sister’s girlfriend is quite a jealous person and I think that was the cause of their fight that led to the tragedy.”
