Teenager mutilated, ‘tortured for hours’ and left for dead by his Jeffrey Dahmer fanatic Grindr date
A family is demanding justice after their 18-year-old son was stabbed, mutilated and left for dead by his Grindr date, who was an apparent admirer of cannibal and serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer.
Police found Holden White at a residence in Lafayette, Louisiana, on Sunday morning (June 21). He was lying in a full bathtub with stab wounds to the neck and wrists. His family say he was physically tortured for hours before authorities arrived.
White was rushed to Lafayette General Medical Centre in critical condition, where he is still fighting for his life. His mother is now demanding justice for an attack that harmed her son “in ways that are unspeakable”.
“I just don’t understand what he could have done to someone so horrible to deserve to die,” she told local news station KATC.
She described her son as “good kid” and a proud member of the LGBT+ community. “He stands for the gay Pride thing, he’s won all sorts of trophies for acting, he’s a good kid, he doesn’t do drugs,” she said.
Police have arrested 19-year-old Chance Seneca in connection with the attack. He had reportedly been speaking with White on Grindr for about a week before they agreed to meet.
Seneca was at home when police arrived and was charged with attempted second-degree murder. He is being held at the Lafayette Parish Correctional Centre on a $250,000 bond.

Police spokesman sergeant Wayne Griffin says they are not investigating the incident as a hate crime, but White’s family members insist that the attack was homophobically motivated because the suspect’s Facebook profile picture is an image of Jeffrey Dahmer.
Jeffrey Dahmer, also known as the Milwaukee Cannibal, was an American serial killer and sex offender who murdered and dismembered 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991.
“In my opinion, this is nothing but something filled with hate,” White’s sister, Faith Roussel, told The Acadiana Advocate. “I feel, just given who his profile picture was and the sick and evil things he did to my brother, this was absolutely a hate crime.”
Police have replied that the investigation is ongoing and they are unable to disclose details regarding the suspect’s motivation.
“There were several indicators that point us to the direction that it was not a hate crime,” Griffin said.
“I know the mom has been posting on social media, and we’ve had all kinds of people calling the police department asking us to classify it as a hate crime. It’s just because of the sensitivity of the case, we cannot go into any more about it, but it’s not going to be classified as a hate crime.”
White is expected to need intense physical and emotional therapy to recover. His family have launched a fundraiser to help with the costs.
