Trump supporters rally against Black Lives Matter and – shockingly – make it about hating LGBT+ people

Event organiser and Trump supporter Maria Martinez gave a homophobic speech

A herd of Trump supporters staged a rally in Miami in opposition to Black Lives Matter — and the organiser wasted no time in launching into a homophobic rant.

More than 100 Trump supporters gathered in Miami Lakes for the protest on Sunday (June 14), in the exact same spot where a Black Lives Matter protest was held a week earlier.

The group donned Trump apparel and waved “all lives matter” banners while cars honked in support.

One attendee, Missy Montecelo, told the Miami Herald newspaper: “Police lives also matter. All lives matter. Not just Black people.”

Event organiser Maria Martinez gave a speech at the event which suggested victims of police brutality bring it on themselves, insisting: “Do what is right, respect authority, stay out of trouble, don’t commit crimes, never resist the police, and you will be okay.”

She went on to deliver an anti-LGBT+ diatribe, telling the crowd: “We all know who Black Lives Matter is, right? Black Lives Matter wants to dismantle the biblical definition of family.

“Black Lives Matter champion the celebration of homosexuality. Black Lives Matter touts gender confusion, and let’s be clear: There’s only two genders, and that is female and male. God created them both.”

Police officers posed for photos with the crowd at the rally.

Trump rally organiser was parroting misinformation from Fox News.

The source of the bizarre anti-LGBT+ attack appears to be a Fox News segment which aired last week, which strained to link Black Lives Matter to a “Marxist gay agenda”.

In it, Black Voices for Trump board member Niger Innis claimed that the activist movement was set up to “promote a hard Marxist and LGBT agenda”.

Innis had vowed: “I’ll be goddamned if you use the suffering and misery of Black Americans and our legacy to the United States of America as your shield and use us as cannon fodder when your agenda really has not a damn thing to do with saving Black lives.

He added: “They have as a part of their platform on their own website that we want to disrupt — disrupt! — the Western-prescribed nuclear family.

“We all know that Black Americans, and not just African-Americans but Americans period, are doing well and are best when they come out of a traditional nuclear family. They seek to systematically disrupt that.”

Innis had actually taken a message about community cohesion on the Black Lives Matter website bizarrely out of context.

The Black Lives Matter platform states: “We are committed to disrupting the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and ‘villages’ that collectively care for one another, and especially ‘our’ children to the degree that mothers, parents and children are comfortable.”
