Lea Michele has been accused of making Glee co-star Samantha Marie Ware’s life a “living hell” due to “traumatic microaggression”.

On Monday night (June 1), Ware hounded Michele after she tweeted a message of solidarity to the Black Lives Matter demonstrations, seeded by the death of George Floyd.

In a scathing all-caps tweet, Ware – who starred as Jane Hayward in the Ryan Murphy show’s sixth season – quote-tweeted the post.

“LMAO REMEMBER WHEN YOU MADE MY FIRST TELEVISION GIG A LIVING HELL?!?!” she wrote.

“CAUSE I’LL NEVER FORGET.

“I BELIEVE YOU TOLD EVERYONE THAT IF TOU [sic] HAD THE OPPORTUNITY YOU WOULD ‘S*** IN MY WIG!’

“AMONGST OTHER TRAUMATIC MICROAGRESSIONS THAT MADE ME QUESTION A CAREER IN HOLLYWOOD.”

Glee stars appear to rally in support of Samantha Ware as she slams Lea Michele.

The accusations garnered an avalanche of support from fans, and appeared to receive the backing several of Ware’s castmates, including Alex Newell, Amber Riley and Dabier Snell.

Billy Lewis Jr, Ware’s fellow season six co-star, also seemed to show his support to the allegations.

Moreover, Community star Yvette Brown chimed in: “I felt every one of those capital letters.”

Overall, Ware’s tweet opened up the floodgates as a cascading stream of accusations against Michele’s behaviour, primarily from people claiming to have worked as extras during the show’s run.

Micro-aggressions can, psychologists say, act as steady corrosive points of trauma for Black folk, were subtle or unintentional discrimination can have severely negative impacts on mental health.

The scandal comes only days after show creator Murphy announced he is considering rebooting Glee – starring Michele.
