Carole Baskin says she definitely won’t be in the new Tiger King episode

Carole Baskin will not appear in any future episodes of Tiger King, the Netflix docu-series that has captivated a world on lockdown.

Tiger King will, according to zoo owner Jeff Lowe, return to Netflix for an eighth and final episode

“Netflix is adding one more episode, [it] will be on next week,” he said in a video clip shared on Twitter.

“We’re filming here tomorrow [April 5]”.

Netflix have yet to confirm the news, and it is unclear whether the alleged new episode would be a continuation or a reunion.

But Baskin has squashed any rumours of her involvement with the eighth episode, confirming she would refuse to participate in Tiger King moving forward.

In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, a representative of Baskin’s said she has “not been approached about a new episode and would not participate if asked.”

What is Tiger King?

The show recounts the rivalry held between Joe Exotic, a roadside petting zoo owner in Oklahoma, and Carole Baskin, owner of the Florida nonprofit sanctuary Big Cat Rescue.

The feud came to a dramatic end when Exotic was accused of plotting to have Baskin murdered. He was convicted last April on two counts of murder-for-hire and a slew of abuse charges around the animals he kept.

Exotic’s crimes have become a lightning rod for discourse, with celebrities such as Cardi B debating the allegations and some even campaigning for Exotic to be released from his 22 year jail sentence.

Similarly, the disappearance of Baskin’s wealthy husband in 1997 — recounted on the show — has garnered the attention of would-be investigators.

Baskin’s then-husband Don went missing 21 years ago, and various interviewees in Tiger King accuse her of killing him. She was never charged with any crime in relation to her husband’s disappearance and denies any involvement in his disappearance.

Local sheriffs now receive around six tips per day from concerned citizens offering theories about what happened to Don.

Tiger King devotes time to one such theory believed by Exotic: that Baskin killed her husband and fed him to the big cats in her sanctuary, a claim Baskin strongly denied as “ludicrous” in a lengthy post on her website.
