Frank Ocean just dropped new music to help us all through these troubling times

By now, you’re probably more than a little bored in coronavirus lockdown – but luckily Frank Ocean is here to save the day.
The queer musician has released two tracks on streaming platforms today, called “Cayendo” and “Dear April”. Neither are necessarily brand new songs – he debuted both at a PrEP club night he organised in New York City last year.
However, the songs were previously not available on streaming platforms. They were only released on 7-inch vinyls which included remixes of the songs.
Frank Ocean drops two new songs on streaming platforms, and it’s exactly what we needed in coronavirus lockdown.
But now, Ocean has decided to give the rest of the world a boost of joy in these difficult times by releasing acoustic versions of the tracks on streaming platforms.
The songs couldn’t have come at a better time as people across the world sit inside, stare at walls, and wonder when lockdown will come to an end.
The mellow, relaxing acoustic versions of the songs are exactly the kind of soothing music we all need to listen to in an effort to help calm the constant anxiety of life in a pandemic.

The singer-songwriter also gained plenty of praise for singing parts of “Cayendo” in Spanish.

The new songs come four years after Ocean released his critically acclaimed second album Blonde.
The singer-songwriter came out as bisexual in 2012.
Ocean gained the attention of a huge number of LGBT+ people when he came out as bisexual in 2012 when he revealed that his first love was a man.
In 2016, Ocean wrote a powerful essay on Tumblr after the Orlando nightclub shooting in which 49 LGBT+ people were killed.
In the essay, Ocean, wrote: “Many hate us and wish we didn’t exist. Many are annoyed by our wanting to be married like everyone else or use the correct restroom like everyone else.
“Many don’t see anything wrong with passing down the same old values that send thousands of kids into suicidal depression each year.”
