Bisexual Love Island star says she’s being abused for restarting her OnlyFans account

Love Island star Megan Barton-Hanson abused for restarting her OnlyFans

The Love Island star Megan Barton-Hanson says she’s been shocked by the level of online abuse she received after relaunching her OnlyFans account.

The bisexual model rejoined the exclusive content site to try and cheer her fans up during the coronavirus lockdown. She is charging £19 per month or £53 for three months for users to view her pictures and videos.

But she was blindsided by the amount of abuse she’s received from online trolls who have been bullying her through social media.

“Since the COVID-19 outbreak, everyone’s life has been turned upside down – it’s a really worrying time,” Barton-Hanson told the Sun, adding that she believes people are feeling “frustrated and helpless” because they now have “much more time on their hands”.

“As a result, I’ve had a lot more negativity in my direct messages,” she said. “It’s sad as most of it is based around my choice to reactivate my Only Fans account. I’ve had so much abuse for it.”

OnlyFans is popular with social media stars who are keen to share X-rated content that they can’t publish on other platforms such as Instagram.

Barton-Hanson says she was shocked that people reacted so strongly to her account, given that she had always been open about her previous work in the sex industry.

“The very first thing I said when I walked into the villa was, ‘Yeah, I’ve worked in the sex industry but I’m not ashamed of it, so don’t try and shame me for it because it is a part of me,'” she said.

“I’ve had so many people put me down, which is sad considering I’ve spoken so much about women’s empowerment and letting women do what they want with their bodies.”

Fortunately her time in the Love Island spotlight has given her a thick skin and she’s not allowing trolls to shame her for the work she does.

“From a young age, I’ve had to deal with people judging my surgery, for example, or my career choices,” she said. “So I’ve built up a tolerance to it. I just think, ‘Why are you wasting time caring about me?”

“As long as I’m happy and my friends and family are happy, I don’t care.”
