Harry Styles declared the ‘king of social distancing’ by fans after postponing his tour due to coronavirus

Harry Styles postpones his 2020 Love On Tour due to coronavirus

Lesbian icon and British singer Harry Styles has announced the inevitable: his 2020 tour is cancelled because of coronavirus.

Due to kick off in Birmingham on April 15, Harry Styles: Love on Tour will now be held in 2021.

Tickets for this year’s tour – which followed the release of his second album, Fine Line, in December 2019 – will be valid for next year.

Styles also confirmed that queer hero King Princess will still be supporting him in 2021.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, the Adore You singer said: “Anyone who knows me, knows that performing has always been my favourite part of working in music. However, during times like these, the safety and protection of touring crew, fans, and everyone else around the world is an immediate priority.

“For obvious reasons, the upcoming tour in the UK and Europe will be rescheduled to 2021.

“Tickets already purchased will be valid for these shows. In the meantime, we will be closely monitoring the situation around the world and will continue updating you in the months to come.

“For the safety of yourself and others, please self-isolate. We’re all in this together.

“I can’t wait to see you out on the road as soon as it’s safe to do so. Until then, treat people with kindness.”

Fans were, obviously, understanding but also besides themselves with disappointment.

The news also presented an opportunity for fans of the former One Direction singer to share their favourite Harry Styles moments.

The 26-year-old, who hasn’t toured since his 2017-18 debut solo tour, Live On Tour, has taken several opportunities recently to sing with other artists.

This has included an iconic duet with Lizzo, singing her song Juice, as well as that time Harry Styles and Stormzy chanted “f**k the government and f**k Boris” together on stage.
